Bangladesh Cracks Down on Illegal Online Gambling: 116 Sites Blocked, Eight Arrested
Bangladesh's law enforcement has taken a significant step against illegal online gambling by blocking 116 websites and arresting eight suspects in a comprehensive operation. The operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and impacted the operation of more than 100 illegal gambling websites.
The arrests follow raids conducted by law enforcement at different areas across Malibagh, a neighborhood in Dhaka, the country’s capital. The eight people suspected of being involved in the criminal organization are between the ages of 26 and 40.
The criminal organization has been operating for quite some time, running domestic and international online gambling platforms. On these sites, gamblers used to transact money using mobile banking services - bKash, Rocket and Nagad, various bank accounts and crypto wallets. Later, the illegally acquired money was smuggled abroad through cryptocurrencies and digital hundi.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
