Ari Engel Sets Record with 16th WSOP Circuit Ring Win
Ari Engel has made history by winning his 16th World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring, surpassing Maurice Hawkins' previous record of 15 rings. Engel's latest victory was at the Horseshoe Hammond event, where he topped an 117-player field to win $10,749.
Engel's journey to this record-breaking achievement began in 2007 when he won his first Circuit ring. Since then, he has been one of the most consistent performers, regularly demonstrating his skills in a wide variety of games including PLO, 6-max and 8-max NL Hold’em, and H.O.R.S.E. In 2023 alone, Engel added five rings to his collection.
Engel has won two WSOP bracelets, in 2019 and 2021, and has amassed $8.4 million in live tournament cashes. Despite his impressive record, Engel remains humble, stating that his heart is in Jerusalem right now, making the achievement bittersweet.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
