apestyles: The Legendary Poker Journey of John Van Fleet

John Van Fleet, known as apestyles, has been a prominent figure in the online poker world for over 15 years. He has won over $15 million in online poker prizes and has faced significant challenges along the way. Van Fleet started playing poker in 2005 and has maintained a high-level career since then. He has had financial struggles and made costly mistakes, but his passion for the game kept him going.

One of the most challenging moments in his career was when he lost his entire bankroll of $80,000 due to drinking and playing against Sauce123. He has worked with Elliot Roe to improve his emotional control during poker games. Van Fleet has always finished each year with a six-figure result, except for 2008 and 2016 when he had significant losses.

Van Fleet believes that the current generation of top poker players is more emotionally detached. He considers himself more emotional compared to the average poker player. Despite the challenges, Van Fleet has found a way to balance his emotional well-being with his poker career, making him a respected figure in the community.
