AGA Mistakenly Lists Coral Among Illegal Sports Betting Sites
The American Gaming Association (AGA) has issued a correction after mistakenly including Coral in a list of illegal offshore sports betting sites. The AGA, a gaming advocacy group targeting illegal gambling in the US, initially named Coral among sites like Bovada, Intertops, and 5Dimes.
Coral, a highly-regarded bookmaker with a long history in the UK, is owned by Entain. Entain also owns BetMGM, a sports betting site available in 14 US states. The AGA's list of legal, regulated sports betting operators includes BetMGM among other prominent names like Bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Unibet.
The AGA's warning about illegal offshore sites highlights the risks associated with these platforms, including support for organized crime and increased problem gambling. However, the inclusion of Coral, a well-established and legal bookmaker, was a significant error. The AGA later stated that Coral was wrongly included in their initial press release, acknowledging the mistake.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
