ACMA Targets MMA Fighter for Promoting Illegal Gambling
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is intensifying its efforts to combat illegal gambling in Australia by targeting influencers who promote unauthorized gambling websites. The regulator has already banned over 1,700 illegal gambling websites from the country.
In a recent investigation, ACMA focused on MMA fighter Jamie Mullarkey, who was found to have promoted offshore gambling services through sponsored posts on his Instagram account. These services are illegal in Australia, and Mullarkey was paid for his promotional activities.
ACMA issued a formal warning to Mullarkey, who complied with the investigation and ended his sponsorship promptly. The regulator aims to raise awareness about the illegal nature of these promotions and the potential legal consequences for influencers involved.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
