Aaron Barone's Historic Run: 888poker Ambassador's Best WSOP Main Event Finish

Aaron Barone, a prominent 888poker ambassador known for his focus on online poker, achieved a remarkable milestone in the 2026 WSOP Main Event. After six days of intense play, Barone secured a 65th-place finish, earning $125,000 — his best live career score by far. This finish significantly improved upon his 2025 performance, where he exited the tournament in the 326th spot.

Barone's journey in the WSOP Main Event has been one of perseverance and passion. His first Main Event four years ago did not yield monetary rewards, and he busted before the bubble. However, his dedication paid off in 2025 when he made a deep run, outlasting all but a few hundred players and cashing for $45,000. This year, Barone's positive attitude and excitement were evident as he shared his journey with the world, posting about the Main Event magic and even joking about how some players miss out on the experience by focusing too much on expected value (EV).

Throughout the event, Barone kept posting about the Main Event magic and even joked about how that magic was lost on some players who look to squeeze out every ounce of EV out of every tournament they play. For Barone, the Main Event remains special. Like so many others who make a living playing poker, he is no stranger to the grind, countless hours spent behind the screen, and less-than-glamorous moments that make up the biggest part of every grinder’s routine. But the Main Event brings back that passion that led him to the game in the first place.
