Positions
Hijack (HJ) in poker
Definition
The seat two to the right of the button, just before the cutoff; the start of the late positions.
The hijack opens a wider range than early position but is still not as loose as the cutoff or button. Players behind it, especially the button, can punish loose opens.
Only the cutoff, the button and the two blinds act behind the hijack, so it is the first seat where a raise can realistically steal the blinds.
