WSOP 2026: Addressing Live Streaming Concerns and Fan Engagement
The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is now at the halfway point, with more than 50 bracelets given away. Jeff Platt, the most recent addition to the full-time WSOP coverage team, has been at the forefront of fan engagement, directly answering hundreds of questions regarding the production, and engaging with the viewers round-the-clock.
One of the main issues highlighted by viewers is the delay in live streams. The WSOP representatives, including Platt, have explained that this is partially due to the Las Vegas Gaming Commission’s requirement for the streams to be delayed by at least 30 minutes, and partially due to the footage being sent to a production team in Korea, which apparently takes two hours to get the streams ready for broadcast.
The WSOP has focused on streaming major NLH events, such as the $25k Heads Up Championship and the NLH High Rollers. Jeff Platt has acted as a mediator between the viewers and the WSOP over the last few weeks and said repeatedly that the exact streaming schedule is a major balancing act.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
