WPT Cyprus Final Table: Russians Dominate in Historic Event
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Cyprus event concluded with a historic final table featuring three Russian players: Aleksey Rybin, Andrey "kedrila" Nikonov, and Sergiy Rybachenko. The event took place at the Merit Crystal Cove hotel in Northern Cyprus.
The final table was particularly notable because it was the first time in WPT history that half of the six finalists were from Russia. The live broadcast was commented by Ilya Gorodetsky, with Maksim Lykov also participating.
The finalists included Piar Saieg from Lebanon, who was in the first place with 349,000 chips. Aleksey Rybin, a 33-year-old high roller from Moscow, was in second place with 2,698,000 chips. Andrey "kedrila" Nikonov, a 23-year-old user of GipsyTeam from Saint Petersburg, was in third place with 1,280,000 chips. Sergiy "Gipsy" Rybachenko, a legendary Russian poker player, was in fourth place with 921,000 chips. Albert Daer, a 26-year-old Lebanese player, was in fifth place with 1,595,000 chips. Kayhan Tügrül, a 31-year-old Turkish player, was in sixth place with 1,025,000 chips.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
