Poker Pros Wesley Fei and Ben Lee Unite Against Extortion Scammer
Poker players Wesley Fei and Ben Lee were targeted by a scammer who attempted to extort them by pitting them against each other. The scammer, Russell Thamer, tried to exploit the strained relationship between the two players.
In August, Wesley Fei faced allegations of involvement in a crypto pump and dump scheme, where he was accused of stealing approximately $250,000. A website was created to detail the allegations, which many in the poker community found believable. Wesley Fei dismissed the claims as blackmail and suspected he knew the identity of the person behind the scheme.
Ben Lee was also targeted by the scammer, who requested funds to investigate further and expose Wesley Fei. Ben Lee sent a total of £30,000 in cryptocurrency to the scammer. After realizing he had been scammed, Ben Lee and Wesley Fei joined forces, with Hustler Casino Live co-founder Ryan Feldman acting as a mediator, to uncover the truth and confront the scammer.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
