US Justice Department Under Fire for Inaction on MGM Hack
The US Department of Justice has come under fire for its lackluster response to the recent spate of cybercrime hacks. Earlier this year, MGM Resorts was hacked, costing the company approximately $100 million in damages. The FBI has been aware of the identities of more than a dozen hackers involved in the September hacks at MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment for over six months, yet no progress has been made to bring them to justice.
Michael Sentonas, president of CrowdStrike, criticized the lack of action by law enforcement against the hackers. "I would love for somebody to explain it to me. For such a small group, they are absolutely causing havoc. I think there is a failure here," Sentonas said. When asked who was to blame for the lack of action, Sentonas said pure and simply it was a failure by law enforcement.
The hacker group responsible for the attacks is known as Scattered Spider. Caesars Entertainment paid a $15 million ransom after hackers took control of its internal IT systems.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
