UK Gambling Commission Unveils New Slot Machine Standards for Enhanced Safety
The UK Gambling Commission has announced new measures to strengthen consumer safeguards at land-based venues. The regulator has calibrated the new rules based on feedback during a consultation period. These measures apply to new slot machines, not existing ones, due to complex technological requirements.
The new rules require new category B gaming machines to provide consumers with improved access to gambling management tools and session information on how long players have been participating and how much they have won and lost.
The UK Gambling Commission Director of Major Policy Projects and Evaluation Helen Rhodes stated that the consultation feedback from a range of stakeholders helped to inform their thinking.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
