Triton Poker's Decade of Dominance: High Stakes, Big Names, and Massive Prizes
Triton Poker's Super High Roller Series, which began in 2015, has revolutionized high-stakes live poker. The 10th anniversary festival, currently running in Montenegro, features events ranging from a $25k Golden Decade opener to a $200k Triton Invitational and $100k NLH and PLO Main Events.
Before Triton, high-stakes poker was largely confined to WSOP bracelet events and the European Poker Tour. Triton changed the game by creating a live environment where top players compete at the highest stakes, consistently, multiple times a year. This shift has significantly increased betting market activity for live poker.
The 2019 Triton Million in London was a pivotal moment, featuring a £1,050,000 buy-in, 54 entrants, and a prize pool that dwarfed previous live poker events. The event raised £2.7 million for charity and featured top players such as Bryn Kenney, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Jason Koon, and Christoph Vogelsang. The Montenegro festival continues this tradition, offering a variety of formats including NLH, PLO, Short Deck, Mystery Bounty, and Turbo variants, with the Ivan Leow Player of the Year race carrying a $200k bonus.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
