Tom Dwan's Macau Poker Challenge Hits Snags Over Media Attention

Tom Dwan has embarked on his 'Chinese challenge' in Macau, but the event is facing several hurdles. Kevmath was initially chosen as a reporter for the game, but due to passport issues, he may be replaced by Matt Savage. The main concern arises from Chinese businessmen who are unhappy with the increased media attention and the posting of photos of participants online.

Tom Hall confirmed that if the posting of photos continues, the game will become completely closed, preventing players like Phil Ivy and Tom Dwan from participating further. The photos are seen as an invasion of privacy and could lead to sanctions against the casino and poker club, as any photography is prohibited there.

A heads-up match between Tom Dwan and a Chinese player took place with blinds starting at 10k/20k HKD. The Chinese player, who had been playing poker for over two years and had accumulated losses exceeding 100M HKD, agreed to show his cards at the end of each hand, regardless of whether the hand reached showdown. The match lasted over 12 hours with blinds reaching 30k/60k HKD. Stella Ye, despite expressing dissatisfaction with her Facebook photos being shared on 2+2, continued reporting from the event, detailing significant hands played during the match. Voycontodo shared a story about playing against Chinese businessmen who were unfamiliar with poker rules, adding to the chaotic atmosphere of the event.
