Stake Poker Unveils $1,000 Buy-in Tournament: Stake Showdown

Stake Poker, a prominent player in the international online poker market, has announced the Stake Showdown, a significant tournament with a $1,000 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $125,000. The event is set to take place on September 27, 2026, and is expected to attract high rollers and qualifiers alike.

Satellites for the Stake Showdown are already running and will continue daily until the tournament starts. Players from various markets can qualify for the $1,000 buy-in for as little as $0.50, advancing through $10 and $100 step satellites. Those with deeper bankrolls can also play the tournament directly and utilize the re-entry option during the early levels.

Stake Poker launched its international iGaming platform in 2017 and has since grown significantly. In 2022, the platform began aggressive marketing efforts, hiring high-profile brand ambassadors and investing in Kick.com. In 2024, Stake Poker introduced its online poker platform, featuring crypto deposits and withdrawals, and unique in-house-built poker software with features like Run it Twice, Rabbit Hunt, and Four Color Deck.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
