Ren Lin Wins Big at US Poker Open: $231,000 Prize
Ren Lin made a significant mark in the poker world by winning event 2 of the US Poker Open, taking home a substantial $231,000 prize. The event, held at the PokerGO Studios in the Aria, attracted 105 entries with buy-ins ranging from $10k to $50k.
Lin's victory was not without its challenges. Early in the tournament, Chino Rheem was eliminated, setting the stage for the remaining players. Nate Silver, who finished fourth, lost most of his stack to Lin in a crucial hand. Robert Chorlian secured the third place, earning $126,000, while Lin and Nacho Barbero fought it out for the title.
Reflecting on his win, Lin admitted, “I’m just very lucky right now. I’m not as good as some of the players, but I’m lucky.” His victory confirms his status as one of the breakout players of the year, and he expressed his appreciation for the venue, stating, “It was my first time winning a tournament in here, and it feels great.”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
