Poker Adventure on the Queen Mary 2: Day 1 Delays and First Impressions

The first day of the bwin Vegas Experience on the Queen Mary 2 was filled with travel delays and initial exploration of the luxurious ship. The author and Raúl nearly missed their flight due to a plumbing issue, but eventually made it to the Queen Mary 2.

The Queen Mary 2 is an impressive vessel, stretching approximately one kilometer from bow to stern and featuring 12 decks from the highest deck to the lowest, which includes an elegant smoking lounge. The ship can accommodate about 2,500 passengers and a significant number of crew members, making it a bustling environment.

One of the highlights of the ship is the heated pool, which also features several ping pong tables. This area became a favorite spot for the author and their companions, who enjoyed playing ping pong while dressed in formal attire, drawing amused looks from passersby.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
