PokerStars Revamps Sit & Go Tournaments with Major Changes
PokerStars has announced substantial changes to its Sit & Go tournaments, enhancing various aspects to improve the player experience.
Two new columns have been added to the lobby: 'Speed' and 'Type'. The 'Speed' column indicates the pace of blind growth, whether it's turbo or hyper-turbo. The 'Type' column specifies the tournament type, such as knockout, heads-up, satellite, and more. This addition aims to provide clearer information to players, helping them make more informed decisions.
PokerStars has introduced hyper-turbo tournaments with a $5 buy-in. These tournaments feature starting stacks of 500 and levels lasting 2 minutes. Available formats include 9-max, 6-max, and heads-up, with games in both NLHE and PLO. This addition caters to players who prefer faster-paced games and adds excitement to the Sit & Go offerings.
Buy-ins for all Sit & Go tournaments, except satellites, have been standardized to $1, $3, $5, $10, $20, $30, $50, $100, $200, $300, $500, $1000, $2000, and $5000. This standardization aims to simplify the selection process for players and ensure a more consistent experience across different buy-in levels. Some buy-ins may be absent for certain tournament types due to lack of demand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
