PokerStars Announces Major Rake Structure Changes Effective November 3
PokerStars has announced significant changes to its rake structure, effective from November 3, 2014. The rake for all limits of hyper-turbo heads-up SNGs will increase. The rake in knockout tournaments will be the same as in regular tournaments with similar buy-ins.
The maximum rake limit in cash games for PL/NL with 2 players at the table will increase to $2 for limits $25/$50 and above, and to $1 for all other limits. In Spin & Go, the rake will increase for all limits from $3 and above, with the maximum possible prize increasing from 1,000 to 3,000 buy-ins.
The rake in all hyper-turbo SNG satellites with buy-ins below $2,000 will increase to approximately 75% of the current rake in regular hyper-turbo SNGs with similar buy-ins, effective from January 1, 2015. In some countries with special tax conditions, rake will be deducted for rebuys and add-ons starting January 1, 2015. The 'Battle of the Planets' promotion will end on November 1, 2014.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
