PokerStars Announces Covid-19 Refund Policy for Live Events
PokerStars has announced a new refund policy for players who test positive for Covid-19 during live events. The policy aims to provide clarity and support for players affected by the pandemic.
If a tournament has not started, players who test positive for Covid-19 will receive a full refund. If the tournament has started but players are not in the money, they will receive a refund proportionate to their stack size. For example, if a player has 5,000 chips out of a starting stack of 10,000, they will receive a refund of €600 (€500 for the value of the chips and €100 registration fee).
If a tournament has started and players are in the money, their stack will remain in play and be blinded out until eliminated. The player will receive the prize amount and position at the point of elimination. PokerStars will honor agreements made among remaining players regarding the missing player's stack, encouraging discussions to take place with the Tournament Director.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
