PokerPlanets Launches in Russia After PokerStars Sochi Closes
PokerPlanets, the new poker platform, has officially launched in Russia following the closure of PokerStars Sochi in April 2025. PokerStars Sochi transferred its accounts to PokerPlanets, which began beta testing in early summer 2025 and officially launched in August 2025.
PokerPlanets offers a welcome bonus of up to $600 for new players, activated with the code PLANETS600. The bonus money is released in parts, with $3 given for every $12 played, equivalent to a 25% rakeback. If a player deposits less than $600, they can top up the bonus within 60 days. There is also a second bonus available for 30 days.
PokerPlanets supports various deposit methods, including bank cards, SBP, Gazprombank, Alfa-bank, Sberbank, Piastrix, LuxonPay, and cryptocurrencies. The platform uses the EvenBet engine, and its interface is similar to PokerStars but with different functionalities. The software is stable, with no reported crashes or freezes during testing. However, some users have noted that the software could be improved by adding the ability to set bet sizes as a percentage of the pot.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
