Pieter Aerts Wins $1.47 Million at Triton Poker SHR Series

Pieter Aerts of Belgium emerged victorious in event 3 of the Triton Poker SHR series, held in northern Cyprus, winning a massive $1,472,000. Aerts entered the event with a $50k buy-in, hoping for a better result after narrowly missing out on the money in event 2.

The event attracted 117 entries from 72 unique players, including high-stakes legends like Ike Haxton, Jason Koon, and Fedor Holz. The total prizepool amounted to $3,698,100, with the top 17 players receiving payouts. Notable players who exited before the final table included Linus Loeliger, Phil Nagy, Jason Koon, and Fedor Holz.

Ike Haxton was eliminated with 8♣ 8♥ against Eibinger's A♦ 3♦. Ben Tollerene finished 4th, adding $535,000 to his Triton tally. Kannapong Thanarattrakul secured 3rd place, adding to his previous 7th and 10th spot finishes. Sam Grafton finished as the runner-up with $994,500. Aerts, who had less than $400k on his Hendon Mob before the event, is now looking to participate in the $200k buy-in Coin Rivet Invitational.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
