Poker Editors Worry About Phil Ivey's Upcoming Website and Logo
PokerNews editors, including Rich Ryan, have publicly expressed concerns about the design and content of Phil Ivey's upcoming website. In an article titled "Five Thoughts on Phil Ivey's Website," Ryan criticizes the current design, describing it as "primitive" and "ridiculous." He hopes that the final version will be different, as the current page only reflects Ivey's gaze and music.
Phil Ivey has never discussed poker strategy in interviews and has stated he does not plan to write a book. Ivey has only posted once on a strategic forum, PokerRoad, at the request of his friend Barry Greenstein. The content of the upcoming website remains unclear, raising further questions about its purpose.
A contest for Phil Ivey's logo design is being held on the MycroBurst freelancer site, with a poorly written brief. The main task is to create a "premium" logo for Ivey, to be used on various merchandise and his website. The brief states that the logo should be a "universal, international" symbol representing Ivey in any business direction, and does not necessarily need to include his name or initials. Some of the current logo designs have been described as "scary."

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
