November Nine 2016: Ki Nguyen, Cliff Josephy, and Michael Ruane's Journey to the Final Table
The final table of the main event will resume at level 35 (250,000/500,000/75,000), with 32 minutes and 50 seconds left to play. Ki Nguyen is in fourth place with 67,925,000 chips.
Ki Nguyen's journey to the final table is one of perseverance and dedication. He emigrated to the USA from Vietnam in 1999 at the age of 24, with the help of his older brother, Duke, a professional military who had been living in America since he was 7 years old. Ki started playing poker in 2003, initially playing $1/$2 limit hold'em with friends. He moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to start playing no-limit hold'em.
Despite his success, Ki Nguyen has faced significant challenges, including a struggle with baccarat. Over the past eight years, he has lost over $250,000 playing the game. However, he plans to donate 10% of his profits to charity, focusing on helping Vietnamese families. Cliff Josephy, known as 'johnnybax', is the most experienced player at the final table, both in age and poker experience. He and Eric Haber founded a backing empire in 2005, offering full backing to players in exchange for up to 50% of their profits. Cliff Josephy has two WSOP bracelets, winning one in 2005 and another in 2013. Michael Ruane is in sixth place with 31,600,000 chips.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
