Negreanu: Young Poker Players Read Live Tells Better Than Old School
Daniel Negreanu, a legendary poker player, sparked a debate on Twitter by asserting that young poker players are better at reading live tells than older players. In a recent tweet, Negreanu challenged the common belief that players from the 'old school' have a better ability to read live tells in poker tournaments.
Negreanu stated, "There is a misconception that 'old school' players are better at reading live tells than the current generation. This is not true. In fact, it's the opposite at high levels." This assertion was met with a sarcastic response from another poker legend, Phil Hellmuth, who replied, "Do you know this for sure? Just like you 'know' many other things?"
Negreanu defended his position by stating that his conclusions are based on his personal experience playing live poker since the late 1990s. He emphasized that his experience gives him a unique perspective on the matter, and he stands by his assertion that young players are indeed better at reading live tells.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
