Mostafa Haidary Wins First WSOP Gold Bracelet in $5,000 6-Handed Event
Mostafa Haidary, an Australian professional poker player, made history by winning his first gold bracelet and $656,747 prize in Event #52: $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em at the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event attracted 817 professional players and generated a $3,762,800 prize pool.
Haidary's journey to the victory was marked by strategic plays and a bit of luck. He revealed that he bluffed much of his chips on three big hands, which surprisingly went through, bringing him closer to his first WSOP bracelet win. His performance was a testament to his skills and the supportive poker scene in Australia, which he credited for honing his abilities.
Haidary's poker career has been marked by several notable achievements. He finished 10th at the WSOP International Circuit Sydney edition, earning an equivalent of $22,197. His biggest win to date was in the 2023 WPT Prime Gold Coast event, where he finished in third position, winning $119,388. Additionally, Haidary won his first five-figure score, $12,205, at the Aussie Millions event in 2016 and an equivalent of $13,798 at the 2018 Aussie Million Opening Event. At the 2024 WSOP, he also cashed in the $1,500 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold'em. In the final stages of Event #52, Haidary eliminated Sonny Franco and won a crucial flip against Krasimir Yankov, securing his victory and the WSOP gold bracelet.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
