Mikhail Syomin Wins WSOP Circuit Russia Super High Roller in Sochi
Mikhail Syomin, the media ambassador for PartyPoker, won the WSOP Circuit Russia Super High Roller tournament in Sochi. The two-day event had a buy-in of 318,000₽ and attracted 39 entries, with a total prize pool of 15,000,000₽ shared among the six finalists.
Sergey Shaulsky was the bubble boy, starting the day as the chip leader. In the final heads-up, Syomin faced off against Leonid Semenyuk. The decisive hand came when Semenyuk went all-in with A-8, and Syomin raised with A-Q. Both players ended up with trips, but Syomin's higher kicker secured his victory.
Syomin's win is his third-largest in his career, following his 2016 WSOP victories of $160,725 for 7th place in the 1,500$ Millionaire Maker and $95,817 for 5th place in the 10,000$ H.O.R.S.E. Championship. This victory marks his first significant tournament win and the addition of the WSOP Circuit Russia championship ring to his collection.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
