Michigan Man Wins $1M After Mistaking Prize for $5,000
A Montcalm County man won a $1 million prize from the Michigan Lottery’s King Cashword instant game. The 75-year-old man bought his ticket at Maple Valley Market located at 106 West 2nd Street in Trufant. The man initially thought he had won $5,000 but later realized his prize was $1 million.
The player chose to receive a one-time sum of $693,000 instead of annuity payments. The King Cashword game no longer has top prizes remaining, but there are still eight tier-two prizes of $5,000 and 143 tier-three prizes of $1,000 available.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
