Maxim Pisarenko Wins First Russian Bracelet at WSOP
Maxim Pisarenko made history by winning the first Russian bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). He secured the HORSE championship with a prize of $399,988. This victory was particularly significant for Pisarenko, who had previously been dubbed "Mr. MiniCash" by his friends due to his frequent early exits.
Pisarenko's journey to the top was not without its challenges. He admitted to feeling nervous at the start of the final table, especially when facing strong opponents like Benny Glazer and Mike Lee. However, his strategic play and resilience paid off, as he managed to overcome these challenges and secure his victory.
Mark Seif, a two-time bracelet winner, had a dramatic experience during the tournament. He claimed he was a victim of the organizers' arbitrariness, losing 3 million chips in a controversial hand. Seif expressed his frustration on Twitter, stating that his hand was declared dead despite his protests. He also mentioned that he was given a penalty and threatened with disqualification if he continued to argue. Despite the setback, Seif vowed to show a worthy result.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
