The Rise and Fall of Romanian Poker Pro Liviu Ignat, Known as 0Human0

Liviu Ignat, known as 0Human0, is a Romanian poker pro who made his name playing high-stakes No-Limit Hold 'em and Pot-Limit Omaha games on PokerStars and Full Tilt. 0Human0 started playing poker in 2007 after hearing from friends that it was an excellent way to make an extra income. He first deposited $250 in Full Tilt Poker, and by the end of 2007, he had lost everything. However, he decided to deposit $250 again, but this time around on PokerStars and started grinding No-Limit Hold'em $0.10/$0.25 stakes.

By January 2008, 0Human0 was playing $0.50/$1.00 and $2/$4 stakes during summer, and as the year ended, he had reached $5/$10 stakes. He continued moving up in stakes to $10/$20, and he eventually became a regular at $25/$50 stakes in 2010. He began playing $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha after growing his bankroll tremendously. In 2011 0Human0 was among the most prominent online poker winners and had amassed over $900,000 profit.

According to 0Human0, comprehending poker's mathematical aspects is crucial, and it's more necessary to cope with the spontaneity of the game mainly while playing online than any statistical study. 0Human0's passion for strategy games like StarCraft allowed him to learn and perfect the game of poker to play at the highest stakes available. 0Human0 also created a Romanian poker training website, Setunderset.ro, to assist other aspiring Romanian poker players in learning advanced strategies of the game. When 0Human0 was at the top of his game in 2012, he could brag about a $2.2million profit graph mostly playing high stakes PLO games on PokerStars and Full Tilt; using the screen name 'mimimi.'

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
