Kristen Biknell's Journey to the WPT Opener Final Table

The WPT Opener tournament on PartyPoker featured three different buy-ins, excluding the high roller event. In the 1,050$ version, players competed for a prize pool of 962,000$.

Ukrainian player Andrey Novak did not make it into the in-the-money (ITM) positions from the final. The final table included notable players, with Kristen Biknell and Day Kotovwiezi, both PartyPoker ambassadors, playing significant roles. Biknell finished fourth, while Kotovwiezi secured third place.

The final heads-up match was intense, pitting Scott Margereson against Gabriel Lepore. Gabriel emerged victorious, taking home a substantial prize of 172,000$. Margereson also received a notable prize of 123,000$.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
