Juan Rodriguez Wins $637k at WSOP Seniors High Roller
Juan Rodriguez, originally from Peru and a long-time Indiana resident before moving to Florida, won the WSOP Seniors High Roller tournament, earning $637,011 and his first WSOP bracelet. He outlasted 844 players over four days to claim the victory. The tournament had a prize pool of $3,882,400.
Rodriguez defeated Nariman Yaghmai in a dramatic heads-up battle. The final hand saw Rodriguez's pair of kings hold up against Yaghmai's A♦3♥, securing his victory. Rodriguez is the third Peruvian-born player to win a WSOP bracelet.
This victory marks a significant milestone in Rodriguez's career. He started day 3 of the tournament just outside the top 10 and by the time the field reached a final table late on that third day, Rodriguez was one of the shortest stacks remaining. However, he managed to turn his fortunes around with a series of key hands, including a crucial double up with pocket jacks against A♣10♠ on the very last hand of day 3 action.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
