Josef Gulas Jr., a 24-year-old local player from the Czech Republic, made history by winning the 2021 WSOP Europe Main Event. His victory earned him €1,276,712 and a coveted WSOP Gold Bracelet. The event, held at King’s Casino, attracted 688 entries and offered a prize pool of €6,536,000, setting a new all-time record for a WSOP Europe Main Event.

Gulas Jr.'s journey to the Main Event was remarkable. He secured his spot by winning a €10,350 WSOPE Main Event ticket through a €250 buy-in tournament at King’s Casino. This achievement is even more impressive considering his father, Josef Gulas, is also a successful poker player with live tournament earnings exceeding €700,000.

In an interview after his victory, Gulas Jr. expressed his gratitude and excitement. He mentioned that he only played the WSOPE Opener and cash games while waiting for his chance at the Main Event. He described the tournament structure as perfect and the atmosphere at the final table as incredible. When asked about the difference between playing on a broadcasted final table versus a regular table, he encouraged everyone to experience the unique feeling of playing in such high-stakes circumstances.
