Isildur1: The Rise and Fall of a Poker Phenom
Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom burst onto the online poker scene in October 2009, winning over $4,000,000 from Tom Dwan in a series of high-stakes heads-up matches on FullTilt. His aggressive playstyle and fearless approach quickly made him a household name in the poker community.
Isildur1's rise was nothing short of meteoric. He participated in the biggest pots in online poker history, including all 10 of the largest bankrolls. However, his fall was just as dramatic. In December 2009, he lost $4,200,000 to Brian Hastings in a single session, a record that still stands.
Isildur1's return to high-stakes poker came in December 2010 when he signed a contract with PokerStars. He started his poker career under the nickname Blom90 on the iPoker network, depositing $2,000 and quickly moving up to playing $100/200 within a few weeks. His confidence in his skills was unwavering, and he felt he was the best NLHU player in the world while playing high-stakes games on FullTilt.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
