Eric Saylor Challenges Phil Hellmuth to a Heads-Up Match in 2022
Poker enthusiasts are buzzing with anticipation as Eric Saylor has challenged Phil Hellmuth to a heads-up match in 2022. The proposal comes after Hellmuth's seventh consecutive win on High Stakes Duel, with his next match against Tom Dwan already scheduled. Saylor, a legend in his own right, brought up their past encounters, noting that their heads-up record stands at 2:0 in his favor.
Saylor's challenge was issued via Twitter, where he mentioned their history in majors and expressed his desire for a rematch. "I wanted to throw my hat in the ring for 2022. We came in at the same time and so far, our heads-up record in majors is 2:0 in my favor. Of course, that was before you developed your entire arsenal of White Magic. And yet, I think you deserve a chance at redemption," Saylor wrote.
Hellmuth has not yet responded to Saylor's proposal, but given Saylor's rarity in making such statements, the poker community is hopeful that this match will materialize in the coming year. Fans are eager to see these two titans go head-to-head in what promises to be an exciting showdown.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
