Doug Polk Steps Down from The Lodge Card Club Operations

Poker pro Doug Polk announced on Friday that he is stepping back from day-to-day operations of The Lodge Card Club, which operates poker rooms in Texas. In a post on X/Twitter, Polk announced that he would still be a shareholder in the company, which has poker rooms in Round Rock and San Antonio. He added that the company will move forward under current leadership.

The Lodge Card Club was raided by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in March as part of a money laundering investigation. The club was forced to close and lay off employees following the raid. The Lodge’s assets were frozen but Polk was adamant that the company had operated within the law. A grand jury ultimately declined not to move forward with a case and the club reopened in May.

Notable poker players Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen are involved in the clubs’ ownership. Nikhil “Nik Airball” Arcot and Ethan “Rampage” Yau also invested in the operation in 2025.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
