Did Jeffrey Epstein Win the Powerball Lottery in 2008?
A rumor suggests that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein won the Powerball lottery in 2008 through a trust. The Zorro Trust won an $85-million jackpot, but the connection to Epstein remains unclear.
The winning numbers for the July 2, 2008, Powerball draw were 4, 33, 46, 48, 52, and 17 as the red Powerball. The Zorro Trust opted for the lump sum and took a further reduced cut of $29.3 million after all applicable taxes. The ticket was purchased at a Stripes convenience store in Altus, Oklahoma.
Jeffrey Epstein was a trustee of a Zorro Trust that purchased the Zorro Ranch in New Mexico in 1993. However, the Zorro Trust in New Mexico and the Zorro Trust in Oklahoma, which collected the lottery prize, may not be related. The ownership structure of the trust remains unclear, and associations between the convicted criminal and the trust in the sense that he used it to win the Powerball are still unconfirmed.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
