David Benefield: Poker, Philosophy, and Life Lessons
David Benefield, a renowned poker player, recently shared his philosophies and life experiences in an interview. He is known for his popular blog, high-stakes poker games, and educational videos.
Benefield's poker career began at the age of 16 after watching the movie 'Rounders' with friends. He noticed that one of his friends was winning more consistently and decided to learn the game. Benefield quickly progressed and fell in love with poker, dedicating his time to mastering the game.
One of the significant moments in his career was meeting Jason Kun at a $10k 6-max tournament in Las Vegas. Benefield recalls that Kun was very nervous during their first encounter, as he was a big fan of Benefield's. Despite the initial nervousness, the two quickly became friends.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
