Daniel Negreanu: Alleged Cheats Imsirovic and Schindler Won’t Play Poker Masters
The Poker Masters series is set to begin on September 22nd, 2023, with a $10k buy-in NLHE tournament. The series will feature a total of 12 tournaments, culminating in a $50k buy-in event. Daniel Negreanu has expressed his intention to participate in the full series, which will be hosted at the PokerGO Studio in the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Negreanu's participation comes amidst a significant cheating scandal that has rocked the poker community. Alex Foxen accused Ali Imsirovic of using Real Time Assistance (RTA) on GGPoker, leading to widespread allegations and bans. Jake Schindler was also implicated in the scandal, with both players refusing to deny the allegations. The Poker Integrity Council (PIC), headed by Jason Koon, has formed an alliance with major live poker tours to bar cheaters from participating in tournaments. This alliance includes the WSOP, WPT, Triton Poker, and the PokerGO brand, which encompasses the PokerGO Tour, the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB), and the Poker Masters.
As a result of these allegations and the subsequent ban, Ali Imsirovic and Jake Schindler are unlikely to participate in the Poker Masters series. Imsirovic is currently in 2nd place in the Poker Masters all-time money winners list with $1,890,700, while Schindler is in 7th place with $1,145,500. Negreanu, who has $709,400 in cashes and is in 18th place, will be looking to improve his standing in the series.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
