Cross-Country Caravan: A Marathon of Miles and Observations

A group of travelers embarked on a cross-country road trip from New York to Las Vegas in their caravan named Sunshine CS30. Their journey has been filled with challenges and observations about American culture. Today, they had to drive approximately 1,200 kilometers in one day to make up for lost time due to various setbacks such as rain, SIM card issues, and learning to use the caravan's generator.

They stopped in Greenwood, Illinois, for the night at an Econolodge motel. The travelers observed that trucks are common and dominant on the roads in the eastern United States. The caravan, not being the most aerodynamic vehicle, had to adjust its direction whenever a large truck passed by, due to the pressure of its proximity.

Along the way, they noticed numerous religious and patriotic symbols, such as flags and signs with messages like 'Jesus is real' and 'Don't go to Hell tomorrow, embrace Jesus today.' They also saw job offers displayed on trucks, indicating employment opportunities in the area. The travelers found the vast landscapes of America's heartland to be striking, with expansive fields of corn, forests, and large ranches stretching to the horizon.
