Clubs Poker Exits Tennessee as New Gaming Law Takes Effect
Clubs Poker has officially stopped offering its services in Tennessee. The decision comes as a result of new gaming legislation in the state, which explicitly states that sweepstakes games constitute unlawful gambling.
Tennessee's Senate Bill 2136 / House Bill 1885, passed in late April, makes it clear that sweepstakes games, including sweepstakes poker, are illegal. Governor Bill Lee signed the bill, making the sweepstakes ban official. Other popular sites have ceased operations in Tennessee to avoid potential fines and felony charges.
Back in December, Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti issued official cease-and-desist letters to a number of sweepstakes online casinos, including Chumba, Global Poker, and High 5 Casino.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
