Charles H. Jeffers Takes the Helm as NCPG's Interim Executive Director
Charles H. Jeffers has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), effective immediately. The NCPG is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to mitigating gambling-related harm through advocacy and awareness.
Jeffers, the founder of The Jeffers Group, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He holds a bachelor’s degree from American International College and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University. Currently, he serves on the board of Baltimore Squash Wise and the Board of Trustees of Maine Central Institute.
Derek Longmeier, the Board President of NCPG, expressed excitement about Jeffers' appointment. The decision to name an interim director follows the unexpected departure of NCPG’s former Executive Director, Heather Maurer, who resigned in September after being appointed in November of the previous year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
