Brian Altman Secures Third WPT Title with Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Victory
Brian Altman made history by winning the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Tampa tournament, earning $613,225 and securing his third WPT title. The event, which was the opening event of season XIX, attracted 1165 entries and a prize pool of $3,728,000. Altman's victory marks his third WPT title, with previous wins in 2015 and 2020.
Altman's journey to the top was marked by several key moments. Jonathan Jaffe, one of the finalists, was eliminated by Altman in a battle of the pocket pairs. Zachary Smiley finished third, earning $302,200 and breaking the $1 million barrier in career winnings. Gabriel Abusada finished second, earning $408,825.
The tournament featured a strong field of players, with Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler among those who cashed. The event saw 146 players cashing, with the minimum payout being a “double your money” payout. Altman's victory is a significant milestone in his career, as he joins the exclusive club of three-time WPT champions.
