BetRivers Poker Kicks Off 2026 with a Fresh Episode of Between Two Phils

BetRivers Poker has kicked off the new year with a fresh episode of its Between Two Phils series. In the latest video, two of the site’s most prominent ambassadors, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Galfond, discuss their career-defining moments.

Phil Hellmuth's career-defining moment was his 1989 Main Event victory. This win was a pivotal moment for Hellmuth, as it put his name on the map and set him on a trajectory of success that has lasted nearly four decades. Hellmuth outlasted a field of 178 players and faced off against Johnny Chan in the final. The victory earned him $755,000 and his first WSOP bracelet.

Phil Galfond's career-defining moment was his 2020 online match against 'Venividi1993'. Galfond issued the challenge to the poker world, taking on several players at €100/€200 PLO tables at Run It Once Poker. The match was a rollercoaster, with Galfond struggling at various points and being stuck as much as €900,000. However, he managed to keep his cool and find some assistance from the poker gods to get ahead over €12,000 with 75 hands to go, which meant he could comfortably fold his way to victory and lock up €100,000 in side bet money.
