Artemiy Puraev: Why Chinese Poker is the Most Profitable Discipline for Regulars
Artemiy Puraev, one of the strongest regulars in Chinese poker, has recently stepped into the spotlight by starting a blog on GipsyTeam, a Telegram channel, and beginning to stream his games. In a recent interview, he shared his journey into the world of Chinese poker and his insights into the game's current state and future.
Artemiy Puraev never played Texas Hold'em but was surrounded by intellectual games like chess, with a rating of around 2300. He was introduced to Chinese poker by a friend during a trip to Minsk. His girlfriend encouraged him to learn the game after he lost a friendly match, and he was inspired by watching streams of Dzhipsy, a top Chinese poker player.
Artemiy Puraev learned Chinese poker by studying Dzhipsy's streams and taking notes. He believes that the presence of bots in Chinese poker has significantly decreased over time and that the game is not overrun by solvers as commonly believed. He thinks that the misconceptions surrounding bots and solvers have been debunked, and the discipline is still profitable for regulars.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
