Andreas Oskarsson, PokerListings.com Founder, Shot Dead in Sweden

Andreas Oskarsson, the founder of PokerListings.com, was shot dead in his home in Trollhättan, Sweden. Oskarsson moved to the US from Sweden around 10 years ago and co-founded PokerListings.com, a popular poker information resource. The site offers news, reviews of poker rooms, historical articles, and rakeback programs.

Oskarsson stepped back from day-to-day management of the site two years ago but remained actively involved. He was reportedly in Sweden due to financial issues with "serious people". Oskarsson was shot in his bed in front of his two-year-old son, who was with him. The killer entered through a window during the day, shot Oskarsson, and fled.

Oskarsson was known for his expertise in poker and his ability to predict industry trends. He was described as a loving and caring father, and his death has left the poker community in mourning.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
