Turn in poker
Definition
The fourth community card, dealt after the flop betting round; also called fourth street.
After the turn comes the third betting round, and in no-limit games bets usually get larger. Draws that missed on the flop now have only one card left to hit.
The turn often changes the strength of hands sharply, so it is a street where many bluffs and big value bets happen.
Example
You hold a flush draw on the flop. If the turn is a blank, you have one card left and about a 19.6% chance to hit it.
